Bio

Sparkle Anderson Bell, APR, CPC is an accomplished strategic communications and marketing leader based in Houston. Her expertise includes public relations, media relations, employee communications, and community affairs. During her tenure at the City of Pearland, Texas, Sparkle's leadership of the Communications Department resulted in over 30 awards for the team's exceptional marketing and communications efforts. The department was even awarded the esteemed Government Communications Team of the Year award by the Houston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and Sparkle was recognized as the Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2016.


In recognition of her tireless dedication to the City of Pearland, Mayor Tom Reid issued a proclamation designating February 1, 2018 as Sparkle Anderson Day. Sparkle's professional accomplishments also include being selected as a member of the 2019 class of Houston Business Journal's 40 Under 40.


Outside of her professional achievements, Sparkle is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Humble, Texas. She also serves on the board of the Houston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and volunteers her time with the Junior League of the Woodlands as a committee chair.


Sparkle received her Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's degree from Rice University. She is also accredited in Public Relations (APR) and has completed the Texas Christian University Bob Schieffer College of Communications' School of Strategic Communications Certified Public Communicators Program (CPC) as well as the Leading, Educating, And Developing (LEAD) program at the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service - Senior Executive Institute.


Fun fact: Sparkle's name was inspired by the Cameo song "Sparkle," which describes a girl with a sparkle in her eye. She resides in Humble, Texas, with her husband Raymond, daughter Aubrey, and rescue dog Stringbean.
