Sparkle Anderson Bell, APR, CPC is a strategic communications and marketing leader in the Houston area. She specializes in public relations, employee communications, media relations and community affairs. In one of her previous roles at the City of Pearland, Texas, the Communications Department she led received more than 30 awards for their communications and marketing efforts. One honor the department received was the coveted Government Communications Team of the Year award from the Houston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The same organization named her Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2016. When she transitioned from her role at the City of Pearland, Mayor Tom Reid issued a proclamation declaring February 1, 2018 as Sparkle Anderson Day in Pearland acknowledging her tireless efforts while working for the City of Pearland. Sparkle has also received the prestigious 40 Under 40 recognition from the Houston Business Journal in the 2019 Class.
She is a proud member of the Alpha Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. in Humble, Texas and a Board Member for the Houston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She also spends her time volunteering with the Junior League of the Woodlands where she serves as a committee chair.
She earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s degree from Rice University. She received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and completed the Texas Christian University Bob Schieffer College of Communications’ School of Strategic Communications Certified Public Communicators Program (CPC) and the Leading, Educating, And, Developing (LEAD) program at the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service - Senior Executive Institute. Born with grey eyes, her birth name was derived from the Cameo song, "Sparkle" which is written about a girl with a sparkle in her eye.
She lives in Humble, Texas with her husband Raymond and their rescue dog Stringbean.
